no torture machines... :P
i want to put some skeletons in it, but have no idea how to do them... also i want to put some dust on the floor and in the edges of the rooms, but i am almost a newbie in pixelart...
im doing the next scene atm, i will post it here when its almost done...
need ideas for a character, if you have any ideas, plz post here (characters should be about 16*18).
i think of something like dungeon siege, where every character have several weapons like sword, bow and magican-staffs...

Its looking good! :beam: Don't like the angle because it hides some walls and looks odd...
The character should be a prisoner in the dungeon. The castle is under seige from enemies up top which gives him a chance to escape. He has to work his way up while attacking the castle owners plus the people who are attacking :beam:

i would do other angles if i could solve the hittest-problem i have...
the shapeflag doesnt work. when i can fix that i would do other angles...
my character so far: a small wizard who can fire flashes at his enemies. i will borrow a bit of the story of DungeonSiege (evil power takes over a peaceful country, and the hero has to free it...) will be alot of work, and ive got no time atm...

I like the look of it, it has a shining force 2 feel from the castle dungeon, lol and dungeon siege borrowed that story themselves, most rpgs based around it lol. I fancy doing some sort of rpg in flash

could work together :D still need some1 to help me with the characters :D.
at the mom i borrowed my character from www.zoggles.co.uk (http://) (the small blue wizard) but i will not keep it, i will do one on my own.
i also need something for the flash-engine: hit test (to prevent the wizard from walking over/through objects).
heres my first try:
(use mouse to navigate, press space to fire a flash)

Looks quite nice, hit test shouldnt be to tough to do, but i think the character should move to when u click rather than just follow the mouse

yes, but i dont know how to do (the click-thing). my hittest works, but i do not get the shapeflag to work :D. would need it for the objects. if youre interested, we could work together... im working on new levels atm.

... hope you get it to work.
the hittest-thing: i want to have an object which has a non-rectangle shape, and i want the character only to stop moving when the shape is hit...

i've had abit of a mess around with it m8, i reduced the file size dramatically and changed how you walk. U now use the keys up down etc. If u don't like it thats ok. I gota hittest thing in place, it only roung but seems to work. I ain't yet got the animation right on the wiz but that won't take long, tell me what u think m8 :s:

kewl that you have fixed the hittest-thingie... but for a rpg, i think the mouse-movement would be better i gues...
ive already done some enemies, a skeleton soldier and a skeleton general

depends really if it like a zelda type thingy where u slash em with ur sword i think keys more skilled where as mouse hard to control. If it like go's to battle screen like in final fantasy i reckon then mouse wud be better

i already have the solution for moving by mouse when clicking anywhere on the scene... could you send me your hittest solution and i will try to put my movement-engine into it...

here's the fla, but i think it willl be really complicated to get the hittest to work by mouse

well i looked at the code, and i think too it would be too much work to do a mouse-controlling (hittest would be very hard to do)
now that weve got the hittest-thing, i think the next hard step will be the AI for the enemies. we could use the code of my old mouse-control, where the enemy would rotate to the position where you are and move into that direction, when the character is in a certain range... i will try to do that...
