It's nice I can appreciate the work went into it, but is anyone else getting a little sick of that refelection effect, it's overused like the bevel and drop shadow!

I dont like this one at all. Actually I like the logo and the video that plays when you mouse over. I find the bgrd a bit too much and the reflection is like bleh....

thats all folks

It's nice, but it seems every site now uses the "reflection effect" which I feel is over done on this site, but over all nicely done!

i agree with the reflection thought.

however i think if they toned down how much it "reflected" i think it would work a whole lot better. just a thought, other than that the site looks good

The background is his work... instead of having like an individual work popup MC or something... he uses the background for it

I found some flaws in the reflections, such as stuff being shown in the reflection that isn't visible otherwise.

I like how it is structured, but something about the navigation and everything else being on top of what you are trying to look at is a bit jarring and maybe not the best way to go about doing something.

Good site all the same. Not totally original, but at the same time pulled off fairly well. How'd you find this one Simp? :thumb:

Nice page, but I hate the font choice for the main menu. :puzzle:

Yea, but... it's pretty time consuming to reflect certain things so down and dirty is much better... and besides the average user wouldn't notice it. Which is why many many sites and illustrations can get away with it.

Not really sure  it was either a link of a link of a link of a link... or from www.res72.com :D [whispher]i'd check res72 first[/whisper]

I like it. Nice and clean, I agree. Reflection is good, but too opaque... And the main typography (home, about, work, contac[t]) is horrible, imho. Shoulda been a font with a bit more 'character' (no pun intended), and closer kearned. At the moment it looks like not-quite-there-contempo rather than the ultra-contempo look it's supposed to convey. As per usual, I'm gonna suggest 'Helvetica Neue' Thin or Ultra Light, all lowercase, kearned nice and closely. That'd be slick :D

Also seems to be missing some nice soft drop-shadows on those main perforated paper backgrounds on the menu.

This one is a bit different than what Syrup Helsinki usually do. I think because of the nature being that it had to be a website showing interior design, it needed some reflection. I am not too concerned about the use of typography because it works, but the major standpoint of the website was its concept.
