entry #1:



Instructions:
- click anywhere on the sig
- draw an image by clicking on the tiles in place of the 'ahmed' drawing
- click 'save'
- by means of magic, the image will saved and then the same image will be loaded whenever you run the footer

swf size: 2 kb or so
SO size: doesn't exceed 5 kb

entry #2:

ok.. here's my second entry... i don't think i will implement it as my footer as it might be a bit slow on older machines and i won't be able to have it up all the time (due to the kind of server it's hosted on).. and it is slowing up the thread after all :)

basically its a FlashComm based mini-multi-user-tile-based-drawing-board thingie.. whatever you draw should appear to other users as it is being drawn.. I haven't much testing (due to the fact that i need two users).. please let me know of any bugs :)

unlike my current footer, you can't just drag the mouse to draw things, you have to click each box :tb:

the file sizes are smaller than the ones for my first entry (can't get exact sizes)

Problem. I try to reset it and my browser gives me an error message... and I can't change anything after my initial drawing... :(

well since the error is with the .OCX (which is the file holding the flash player ActiveX) i think your player is a little messed up.

try restarting, if that doesnt help try reinstalling/updating from macromedia's website...

i doubt its a problem with your movie ahmed.

did it back in Flash 5 but the same concept applies to MX (and is now easier by just setting a variable).

as you can tell, other button methods are envoked in other buttons which are not the "current" button. Otherwise they are ignored - ie if you press on a button and drag on another button, normally it has no reaction but track as menu allows that reaction hense the ability for setups like these to click and drag to draw instead of click click click etc :)

Ok.. so this is my final modification to the entry :)

you have to press 'save' now once youre done drawing. There was a bug in saving the imae when the same footer is being displayed more than a single time (like in this thread). The save button luckily fixes it :beam:

one small issue though, it seems you cant toggle the top left and top right pixels, probably cause of the rounded corners... i might be wrong though.
