Does anyone know which software is used to make images like this?
Is there anywhere I can learn to make things like that???
Thanks,

games with graphics like that are reminiscent of the old era, so that means no 3d or anything. You could do something like that with photoshop or in fact any painting program (probably even MSpaint if you have the time, although i don't know if you have a wide choice of colors there). the point is, its really about your art skills. The character is just drawn in a lot of different angles and poses, and so the animation becomes just a series of these images.

so learn to draw and illustrate really well, and you're most of the way there. Then it's just a matter of doing it in your choice of program (you would probably call it pixel art, because it has the distinct pixelly look, although it's not really the same style as what a lot of people mean by pixel art).

you dont need 3d at all
just make some sketches of the person in different angles, scan them, then in photoshop or anyother graphic program just paint

i think he just wanted to see the difference between this and 3d, colombia.

here's an example of a character made in 3d (this is a comic style, you can get really realistic 3d work).

Actually there are programs that do this for 3d work i remember my brother was talking about it a long while back. Sry. He doesn't remember the programs name, but all it basically did was take a 3d model and rotates it 45 (it can be any degree) degrees takes a picture so that there are 8 pictures of the model when its done. Sorry I don't remember the name.

btw. To do graphics like that take an very long time by hand.

I know Maya and Max have lots of toon shaders, Never really used them. I doubt it could produce the pixel look, but i'm only speculating.

U cld in theory do a hard version of what temp is saying. Model a 3d character, render him at x num angles. Then in PS maybe really make him low res/pixelated. Not really sure of your intentions, so sorry if thats the wrong idea.

there is a free program called blender web site here (http://blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html) and another one but i forgot the name. it is available for many platforms, but i do not know how to use it yet, especially since the mac osx version does not run on my computer :( ... anyway, just a suggestion

seriously, you don't need to (or want to probably) do this in a 3d program...

back before there were such programs available, these graphics were still readily available - because all you need is some nice drawing skills to be able to accurately show the character from different views. i'm not saying it's EASY, but there seems to be this big push against traditional illustration skills, while it'd be probably just as quick to paint the different views, and you get a much nicer, natural look.
