The Footer Contest: Information

Hey everyone,
It is time for another cool contest on the forums. This contest is all about the great footer. Footers, as you may know, are the little animations/graphics that we display below each of our posts. Except, this time, you can create and submit a footer and get a chance to win cool prizes.

Submitting Footers
To submit a footer, simply create a New Thread in this forum (http://www.kirupaforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=28) and enter your footer. Please don't reply to this post with your footer =)

Make Footer a Part of Thread
When submitting your footer, please make sure you include the footer as a part of your message. Even though the footer you submit is the one you may currently be using throughout the forums, the reasons for this is:
Many surf with footers turned off; they won't see your footer at all.

This prevents submitted footers from inadvertently being changed when one modifies his/her footer in the profile. Thanks to senocular for bringing this issue up.
Contest Duration
The contest will take new submissions until June 3. Voting will commence shortly after the top entries have been selected by a panel of judges. The contest information page has information regarding this.

Hey kirupa,

We should make it so only one footer is active in each thread, the one that is attatched by the user. This will help to make sure we get to see each users footer at optimum performance, just my two cents.

good idea dan, i was thinking the same thing to. I have seen alot of replys in other peoples thread here. I think that once a member posts the footer, they can lock it if they want. It would give there footer optimum preformence like you said.

I am going to take out the footers in peoples posts in the username entry threads, but still allow replies.

That's a good idea, but I think most of us before the judging will surf with footers turned off so that would not be an issue. Alas, vB does not have a feature where footers can be disabled for only one forum.

can they be old footers? Are there 2 differnt contest catagories JPG's and SWF's?

Sintax, the number of submissions a person can make is 2. It doesn't matter whether they are JPG/SWF/old/new =) Many here already have/had great footers, and they are welcome to submit the old ones as long as they meet the guidelines!
