It'd be great to have tags like this:
<html>
Which would generate:
<html>
Which looks like:
<html>
I use this all the time… it'd be nice to have a shortcut.
In Markdown, it is simply done with a back-tick (`) on either side of the code. That would be even better…

Well, yeah, I've already asked for that, and couldn't get it. So, I'll just ask for some vb equivalent tags. ;l)

If you want monospace, just use the code
tags.
[code]trace("Use the code tags!");

I think he wants to be able to trace("write code"); without creating the white box and going to a new line. Personally, it seems easy enough to use the font tag.

Oh! Yeah, in that case just do it normally by selecting Courier New as your font or something :P

I do that, but use simply , instead. But, it only takes you a second, and you could make do the same thing, and save lots of time typing the whole thing. ;)

That would be much simpler, but I don't see very much practical use in them. Since it would take more time than it would gain. I personally think just using the font monospace thingy would be much easier than having to type out

The ic thing would also only benefit a very small amount of people as I don't believe it's a common tag.
Jeff Wheeler

Does it matter if it would be common?
I don't use the enhanced editor, and even if I did, it doesn't have monospace, I don't think. Only specific fonts.

Kind of, I believe. It's common sense to use b, i, u, quote, etc. They're fairly self explanatory. But no one is really going to know ic, and I highly doubt many people would use it. Just my (always accurate) 2 cents.

Courier New is a pretty good monospaced font. Having a separate tag for doing something that can already easily be done via the message editor seems unnecessary.
You can also use Lucida Console if you prefer it more.

Ok, simplified: we both agree on something.

Yes, exactly...
Quick question, kirupa, what does msft.redmond(); stand for?

Microsoft Fort.Redmond [Some State]? I don't know?!?!
Jeff Wheeler

msft is the abbreviation for Microsoft, and it's calling the redmond() method of msft, presumably some sort of Company type.
I have argued that redmond() should be a variable, not a method, as it's not intended to do anything, but Kirupa does not listen.
Anyways, this is the wrong place.
I wish people could still close their own threads. :(

Well I was wondering if it was a location, because his old location looked almost exactly like that except it pointed to MIT.

Redmond is the city Microsoft is located in. It's right outside Seattle.

Another example of how unconnected to the world I am. If it weren't for me this thread would be dead by now, LOL.
