I play on diffrent servers.. and this is usualy my user name! But somwere.. there is a player search.. I forgot what its called.. but just play and get the hang of it.. I love this game!

I tried it yesterday. And it is really confusing and hard.....

I play cs and own, same with q3 tfc. But I don't get dod, it's kinda not what i like....

DoD, worst game I've EVER played. It wasn't fun at all.

You can barely run.
You die so easily, but its not so easily that it's realistic. Its in that horrible middle area between long-unhuman life and 1 shot 1 kill.
People spam the spawn points with nades so you can't spawn w/o dying in 5 seconds.
The sniper rifle is horrible, it has the worst swaying effect ever. Plus it does less dmg than the regular rifle and yet it doesn't work at close range.
Grenadier has 5 grenades and the best gun in the game. The Allied infantry has 1 grenade and horrible gun. So unfair
Axis have both the best machine guns.
Axis always have better position on maps.
Grenades don't even pay attention to walls. You'll be standing in a building when all of a sudden, a grenade that went off 2 buildings over kills you.
Average ping is about 300
Bullets go through walls, so all those great radar people kill you before you have a chance of seeing and killing them.

I'd go on, but, i think you guys realize i hate this game. If you want to play a GOOD ww2 game, get battlefield 1942. Its about 20x better.

Yeah, THis game is very famous its hard to download now.. but try the russian server. I got to download there at 200k /s And I am in hawaii! I download it in 15 min!

Dod is the BEST especialy 1.0! It has great graphics! Its realistic and Nali. you were talking about some other BETA version of the game! There is more teamwork, the PLAYERS are so much more mature. But teamwork and communication are almost always usefull to a decicive victory! Its combination of cool effects graphics an realism is great! And since beta 2.0 they introduced recoil, so its alot easier to to survive and fight all along!

I agree that there was some probelms , but the game is pretty balanced.. axis have more support weapons with slow firing Karabiners and MG's while the Allies have better assault and close support weapons. And yes SOMETIMES axis have better positions, and it makes all the more fun to take. Because thats how it was historicaly. There is nothing more satisfing that flushing out a building of germans and mowing them down as they try to re-eforce it!

I downloaded this game and....

it was fun. However, I think I am now spoiled by Battlefield 1942. What an awesome game.

I do like the fact that you deploy your bipod. that is cool

I guess I could combine the features from DOD and Americas Army (which is fun, too) and 1942 and you would have an incredible game.

Team Fortress 2 is on the way. I hope it does not dissapoint.

I understand the Axis had better positions in the real war. But, although I don't have exact stats, I'm guessing the Allies had about 100x (if not much more) as many people at Normandy than the Axis did. In the game though, the teams are balanced. So its 20 Allies with inferior guns trying to assault the Axis bunkers. And when the axis guns are much better, there was no chance.

It was just like playing unreal tournament with an impact hammer against 12 guys firing redeemers at your face. Well, assuming you don't have the jump hack like kirupa.

Apart form the normandy landings Germans usualy outnumbered americans. Esspecialy during the Battle of The budlge where they where outnumbered about 16 to 1!

Americans, because of the abundancy of semi- and automatic weapons could easily pour out as much firepower as the germans. I didnt say they had infirior guns, I said they are more on close support and rely less on machine guns. While german squads where constructed around machine guns. They figgured one machinegun = to 20 rifleman.
And on your bunker idea.. well all I have to do is quote Patton:

"If men could overcome mountains and oceans! Then we can easily overcome anything man-made!"

Bunkers can hold an enemy for a bit, but all you have to do is go around!;)
