I've had 2 diff fresh water tanks, both over 30 gals...
In one, a lone albino Channel Cat ended up getting to 14" before I he became too large for the tank. Will only grow as big as thier environment my arse...
Had to give them up when I moved to Hawaii... Couldn't figure out an inexpensive way to ship my fishies...

sweet daveman! my 75 was african cichlids for 3 yrs until we
moved into a 1 br apt waitng for our house. The tank crashed in
that move and i lost all my fish. Some were 3+ yo. I was upset.
My favorite fish, and the daddy of some of the others was a
Likoma Island Elongtatis. (nicknamed Torpedo) The most
beautiful fish I swear. King of the tank too. He went down like a
true king too...he was the last to go.
I decided to make the 75 salt water now tho. I have 1 cichlid in a
freshwater setup, with tetras and generic tank fish. He does well.
oh yeah!!! I just remembered I had 1 survivor from that tank crash,
my bristlenose pleco. He's still around. Tough fish for sure. He's 2+ yo.

Quite a lucrative little business down here in Australia... I've had cichlids for about 15 years now starting off with Oscars...
But my fave's have to be Frontosa.. I get around $40.00 AUD (25US) each for 1 inch specimens....
I once had a large saratoga that i paid $300.00 for and he jumped out of the tank the 2nd night. (put bricks on your lids with saratoga.. trust me)

I've become a bit more of a Nomad as of the last 10 years. A minimalist so to speak. I like having 1 key on my ring (has a nice irony to it), a cat did adopt me (it was my fault, but he did adopt me), and I have stayed a while...
No... I will not get any more pets!

that's cool, thx for posting guys.
I love fish and the mood it brings. I want to always have some
"life" to my house, and fish are perfect for that.
I have 3 cats also, and I want a dog soooo bad.
