it's difficult, but let's try:

- how do i make a river?
- how can you make different layers, an example: different areas

hmm... layers.... never thought of that... I'm afraid they are done in a different program where you can paint til you get a defined bightness level or sth...
But rivers... that shouldn't be hard!
Select one of the scuplting tools in the Landscape window and hold down the right mouse button until you see a blue (in greys mode) area or a gery area (in cols mode)!
You can also rise the sea level! Just open the Water options and in the upper-right corner of that window you can see the default water level "-300"! You can put any number in there!
