Lets see whow this plays out, we still gotta wait for the Wii Price oh another funny thing is sony is using PS2 wireless controllers for the PS3 that is kinda cheap of them.

Apparently the 500 version doesnt have HDMI and no wifi built in, so in other words it renders your blu-ray Hi Def experience since it will downsample the video to 420 and it doesnt support 1080.

This doesnt seem right since you cant really upgrade the cheap version in order to make it compatible with the premium version unlike with the x360 I wonder why they just didnt do a hd version and one without the hd and sell it for cheaper a la x360 because what they did is ridiculous.

Oh another thing the controller now doesnt rumble but it has some tilt motion sensor technology, and the games they showed on the florr looked no where near that killzone CG trailer.

People will still buy it. I know some friends from work who already have the money and then some to buy it. People have known that the price would be outstanding for a while now so this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.

Doesn't anyone remember when the X-Box first came out? Everyone said it was going to fail. Now look at it, it's one of the most played systems out there. We'll just have to wait till November 17th (or later) to see how it plays out. I know I'll be picking up one of these along with the Wii and I'm going to wait till the 360 has a game that actually interests me that hasn't come out for the PC as well.

All in all, I think Sony will do alright in this run.

Personally, I'm not thrown off that much about all this. The price in DKK are just around the 5000 I expected, so that's not a shocker to me. And I'm really glad they opted for the new controller, seeing as I love the old one :)

And the key factor in why I'm getting a PS3 is still, that I've got around 30+ games for my ps2 I'd like to work on PS3 also, then chuck out the PS2. I'm not all for having several consoles standing around. So when I buy it, I'll have some games to play while robbing banks to get some PS3 games...

(and yes, I'm aware that I could just wait for the PS3 and play my old games on the PS2, but I wanna roll them through the new console and play in higher res, but that's just me...)

Mark my words on PS3 launch day you can buy a X360 and a Wii for the price of 1 PS3 premium.

If Nintendo really wants to take advantadge over their new features and try to dominate the market they once ruled they gotta sell the Wii for 200 bucks heck at that price point I might even consider purchasing one.

I seriously doubt the Wii will be more than $200. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was somewhere around $189 or even as low as $150 depending on how much less they think they need to go (or how low MS is able to get a 360 down to by then).

As for PS3, I think they have some good price points. Thats about what Id expect, especially given the technology in there and people (not including myself) will pay it. I'm not sure how many people will opt for the lesser of the two models, though.

i was looking at some of the ps3 games.... and they do really look bad (comparing them to the LAUNCH 360 games).

The lack of ant aliasing capabilities really seem to hurt it... instead of having nice trees and things they have jagged scary edges everywhere..... Furthermore, the ps3 lacks all the post enhancements that the 360's graphic chip can do (because they have more graphics memory and less system memory... while the ps3 has more system memory and less graphics.... but they both add to 500mb). For example, the 360 can do motion blurring, depth of field, and glow all easily while it looks like none of the ps3 games can.

While comparing pgr3 on the 360 to Gran Turismo (assuming that's their big racing game for launch), Gran Turismo looks horrible.

Just my 2centsYeah, Gran Turismo HD (is what they're calling it) did look like Gran Turismo 3 - but that's not coming out 'till next year at the earliest. I hope it looks better. :worried:

The only dumb console Im seeing as of now is PS3 the design and controllers are identical to the PS2 they just made it bigger and half a circle instead of squared, lack of innovation and creativity.

X360 has live and a few good games but by years end that will change we should have Gears of War, Too Human, Mass Effect to name a few.

Nintendo has its popular franchises, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus plus on top of that its cheaper and has a unique controller, many people will buy a Wii out of curiosity and try out the controller.

Sony has God of War, Shadow Colossus, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear and Gran Turismo. Of these I only like 3and one of them is gonna be for PS2 not PS3 which is God of War 2.

All sony is doing is imitating both of Nintendo and MS ideas and adopting them lets see how that plays out.

And anyone knows 2 is better than 1 :lol: only someone who doesnt know about math thinks 1 is greater than 2.

Nintendo lost its dominance a few genarations ago but I actually think they can surprise alot of us and get back in the game if they do things right, that doesnt mean Sony cant loose its dominance of the game market.

We can only wait and see but it looks bad for Sony so far.

Man this e3 is crazy I had no idea Sony was going to make such a *** of themselves presenting. But regardless of how stupid Sony is they have still made a pretty amazing console. The games on it do look unreal some look as good as xbox360 games some look quite a bit better:

If you click on any of the actual images it will take you to the high-res movies for each game. I strongly suggest you check out MGS4(OMG!!!) FINAL FANTASY(HOLY KRISPY KREME CHRIST!!!) RESISTANCE(DAMN!) and WARHAWK(VERY SWEET! AND IT USES THE PS3's 6 Axis controller really well)

Of These games Resistance, and Warkhawk are the only launch titles. Pretty big difference between these games and the ones my 360 launch with.

360 Is looking really fricken good this year too I strongly suggest you check out Gears of War it look great.

ASSASINS CREED - Is only on PS3 at this point. Conversion would be tough since its been built from the ground up for PS3 and doesnt use any middleware that would make porting easy. So its very unlikely its just a "timed exclusive" It is probably going to be a "console exclusive" to PS3.

Sure you can make the X360 core into the more expensive model but that doesn't mean you can compare that to the PS3 for the reason that the X360, even upgraded, doesn't have the same HD output as the PS3. Not to mention that even the less expensive PS3 has a next generation media input where as neither of the X360's have one. In addition to this, the core X360 doesn't even have a hard drive at all.

I found someone else who said something like I did: "A 360 with hard drive is $400; tack on another $100 for the wireless adapter. Gets you into the $500 range of the base PS3 that has a the same size hard drive and built-in wifi. Except the PS3's going to be doing Blu-Ray right out of the box, no? Compare to the 360's HD-DVD attachment, which'll run at least $100. All in all, I think $500's a fair deal for launch."

Ubisoft rarely does exclusives. Think Splinter Cell, that started a an Xbox Exclusive, and Ubisoft kept saying that there were no plans to "downport" it for the PS2.

Ubisoft kept saying that due to the lighting engine that the PS2 would have trouble running Splinter Cell.

Less than 1 year after the Xbox one was released, it was out on PS2.

That is just the way Ubisoft works for some strange reason. On occasion they will do different "versions" of a game for different consoles, but Solid exclusives just isn't their game.

Sure you can make the X360 core into the more expensive model but that doesn't mean you can compare that to the PS3 for the reason that the X360, even upgraded, doesn't have the same HD output as the PS3.

Your gonna have to pay extra for HD on the PS3 mikey since the PS3 doesn't include the HDMI cable out of the box at least the X360 brings the component/composite cables so you can have HD gaming out of the box.

You seem to have a bit of a bias against the PS3...

The system hasn't even been released yet for God's sake.

PS2= A huge fan base and a wide variety of good games and developers.
Xbox= Halo and FPS. Better graphics and rendering. Built in hardrive and Xbox Live support.

Sony is reaching every issue raised against its last gen system, and they deserve some credit for that.

I still think the Blue-ray support is important.. Yes, it's more than anyone would need for the most part, but as the systems grow older I think that boundery (space wise) for HDDVD's could be breached.

Eh, time will tell.
