alright, I completed this site as a project for a studio class offered at the university I attend as a way to showcase student's work. I am not only interested in feedback about the site but also wondering if anyone had insight into how much someone would charge for a simple site like this if it was done professionally. Thanks for your feedback! http://www.mgreenler.com/gabe/index.html

I really like it. I think the navigations needs a little something so it's easier to get around, whether it be bigger buttons or something. Also loading progress bars (small one under bytes loaded) would be visually pleasing.

Given that the students section is 3 megs (!!!!!!!), I wouldn't preload all of it, but rather only load images that the user requests, as is extremely typical for most image galleries. I mean, anyone with a spotty connection is going to give up after like 500k.

I also personally think that there are a lot of better sansserif fonts than Arial, or at least better looking ways to use it.

Also, I just noticed in the "Studio" section you keep misuing "affects." "Affect" is a verb. You want the noun, "effect." For example: "The effects of the architectural skin include ... " vs. "The architectural skin affects the dynamics of its surface..." This is an important difference! Don't let a grammatical error mar an otherwise nice site.

Finally, as a former architecture student myself, I found some of the work rather interesting, particularly the Virgin Atlantic project. Many of the others did not seem to be as fleshed out (what an ironic euphamism) as that one.

As far as preloading the slideshows --thats something as a flash beginner that I didn't think about until the end, I should have tested it more thoroughly along the way! I will change the text as well (even though it was given to me to put in the site) either way, grammar is important. Thanks for the feedback.
