I bought a new compy the other day and it's login is set up to Administrator. I created a user account but everytime I reboot it returns to the Admin user. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

What do you mean it returns to the admin user? Like it auto logs into the administrator account, and that other accounts do not show up on the welcome page?

Yeah it auto logs into the admin account. When I log off again and switch to the account I created the admin is gone off the welcome page. Any idea how to fix it?

You may have a default user set...

Open regedit (Start > Run > regedit) and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon.

If, in the right bar (where all the values are) you find something like 'AutoAdminLogon' and it's set to '1', double click it and enter 0 in the box.

I believe that stops the Admin logging on by default, but I can't remember exactly what you have to do to get the Administrator to display on the welcome screen.

I would recommend downloading TweakUI Link (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx).

It is microsoft's gui to advanced UI settings. Installed it, go to "Logon". There are options for autologon (on / off) It also has the options to the welcome (logon) screen.

Let me know if you have any questions.

hm I forgot about this, but just in case the above didn't work...

goto start>run and type "control userpasswords2"

check the box for "users must enter a username and password..."

I doubt this is the case, though, as by default that box is already checked.
