When shutting down and turning on my computer again, it takes such a long time. But recently, I've tried hibernating and turning on again, and it takes less than a minute:)
So basically, i stuck with hibernating. But are there problems associated with it? Does it use power, or is it in a dead state, using no power at all?
Thanks guys, any answers would be appreciated:D

I think hibernating basicly stores all your RAM in your hard drive when you shut down, and when you start back up, it gets moved back from your hard drive to your RAM. It saves the state of all the windows and anything else like that, aswell.
It doesn't use any power, but because it stores the RAM, it means if you've been running programs with memory leaks they won't get fixed and your system'll still be slower than it should be. And it's not a substitute for restarting either; you should still restart after installing things.

Wikipedia has lots of information about snake hibernation, really quite fascinating, they like are kinda dead, doesnt there heart slow down to like 1 beat a minute or somtin??
oh what? computer hibernation. :beam: dont really use it much, my computers so messed, i need to restart at least everyday to keep it from goin crazy, so hibernation wouldnt be much help for me.
