Hi, I'm new to flash so I apologise for my noob questions.
I have created a .swf banner and when I play it on my computer it works perfect. When I upload it, however, it doesn't display. I put it on my webspace and went to it's url and it was just a blank white page :stare:
I then tried another host and it didn't display there either. I can't figure out why this would be happening.
Any ideas?

Make sure that the embedcode of you HTML-dokument uses the correct casing of the filename and path. And also make sure that it refers to the correct path on the server where you have your SWF uploaded.

yes that is all definately correct, it doesnt even display it when i go directly to its url e.g. www.flash.com/flash.swf (http://www.flash.com/flash.swf)
well here is the url:
www.aunm02.dsl.pipex.com/Banner.swf (http://www.aunm02.dsl.pipex.com/Banner.swf)
now there is definately a flash file called that in that location...but it doesnt show :*(

Is it just that particular file or did you try other files? If its just that one could you resave it and have it rewrite it self and then publish it or copy all the layers out of it and place in a new doument and resave that one?
sounds like its corrupted maybe.

If you look at the source code there's a link to:
http://www.aunm02.dsl.pipex.com/Banner.dcr
and not:
http://www.aunm02.dsl.pipex.com/Banner.swf

I would think the file was corrupt but it works when it is on my machine just not when uploaded.

yea the actual webpage can be ignored, i havent changed that yet. I started out with a .dcr banner but thought a .swf one would be better.
it works perfect locally, it's just when i upload it that it won't show :-\
i'll try republishing it anyway

Are you sure that your browser has the correct player version?

yes there is nothing wrong with my pc, it plays everything else.
I remade the file from scratch and now it works...so I'll just forget about it and stop scratching my head hehe

I found out that the reason my movie wasn't working/displaying correctly is because the is an error with the server I was using. After putting it on another server it works fine.
