View Full Version : flash it up?

This is my first attempt at a Photoshop 7 interface design.
Should I begin "flashing it up" in MX? Or should I can it and start over? I need suggestions... I know it's pretty sloppy. I plan to "tweak" it up. I would like some suggestions as to what to get rid of, add, tweak on, ect... My plans are to insert the text links at the bottom, and build a television looking square inside the top portion for the transition graphics. What should I do?

the sides are pretty pixelated, like the wires and the tube things

it's a great start and could be amazing, but you need to have a sharper image - just like Soulty Said.

I would recommend getting rid of that HUGE shadow too - it's too blurry and makes the design look "muddy"

But again - great start and could be a wicked interface!

OKay, I killed the huge drop shadow, and tweaked on the sloppy areas... from here? You guys will get "kudos" on the page for good suggestions :s:
Like light flowing through the cables and wires...

Found it

this is a interface for a music played in director. so i had to change some of the jpeg compression got it to 404Kb, originally theres no compression but its a 1.2 meg file, so yeah this is less than half the quality it should be. :beam:

::btw theres no preloader , so just let it load.

Oh, ok... :)
What are your favorite programs?
I am a rookie at all this...
I am only learning one program at a time..(Photoshop 7.0 now, Flash MX next) I also have Bryce, Lightwave, Poser 4 pro, Freehand 10, Director 8.5, Swift 3d V.2, Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX, Illustrator 8.5, and Pagemaker....
I am a bit confused about which programs to use...
If I were to combine say 3 programs in this interface, which should they be?
I have been through many learning curves....

The tubing doesn't look real enough, you should try the tutorial on www.phong.com

There is a wire tutorial on there that will help.

Hey dreamer, instead of posting useless comments, how about you help out.

That tutorial posted was to give jkm something better to work with comparing to what he has now.

If it doesn't look 3D enough then do you know a better tutorial jkm could use?

I was going to say the same EG...

dreamer:

you left similar comments on my logo thread. Please give constructive criticism, with options on how to fix, or tips to make better.

There are enough people out there ready to bag on any design made (especially from someone who has never posted any of thier own stuff)...

just a friendly word of advice...

But then you kindly took your time and told me exactly what did suck....Thanks (amk repost soon)

Rev>Thanks for the back bro... jump in here and let's build this together !!!

ok guys,
JMKM Productions is a multimedia presentation business. I work mostly for High Schools... I go to games, take pics, and digital video... THEN throw it all together with some of my music. I then
present the "production" with a projector and big sound. (usually at sports banquets) I also have a few clients that I build websites for. This interface is going to be the for www.jmkm.com
Then, a very similar more machine looking interface will be built for www.amkennels.net I work for NASA here in Alabama...So, my free time is devoted to art.
That's my deal...
(just an overview)
