i dont really like the colors.too monotone for a magazine.doesnt really make me want to read it.also,do a little work on the fonts.

A weekly magazine for $15? Wow, this had better be good :)

Seriously, it's not so much the price but you're in a very competitive area with some huge names that spend as much on a single cover photo as most magazines will spend on their entire annual photography. That's how importantly they value a cover so the image they use has to be top-notch with pinpoint focus. Although your picture is interesting (and similar to the famous National Geographic cover image) I don't think it has those required qualities. I'm also a little confused as to why it's superimposed over a second image.

The comments above are valid too, I'm afraid, as it doesn't really shout at me begging to be read. The masthead is prominent but the font is almost childlike - look at the huge roman-style fonts that magazines like Vogue and Bazaar use and maybe think about using something similar.

So as a design it has some interest (particularly if you drew the main picture) but not enough detail to really hold my interest. A reasonable effort all the same.
