Here is my own entry. I enjoyed this contest, this is my first time creating a magazine layout, so it was a good experience. Even though this is a fake magazine, I used my real business name, which makes me even want to start a magazine!

Anyway, here it is:

this is kind of cool! the only thing is the greenish text on the top left, it's kind of hard to read...looks kind of blurry... but I like everything else!!!:pleased:

My first words of advice would be....don't! Stick to selling audio equipment.

That's not being disrespectful about your cover, btw, it's just that it's notoriously difficult to make money in the press/magazine industry :)

I've looked at this a few times now - and each time I've had a different reaction. First time I thought it looked great, then I thought, hmmm...a boring Maplins Electronics magazine for geeks with soldering irons...then I thought it was okay, then good. So why do I have these different emotions when I look at it?

I think it's probably because your magazine falls into three segments 0 the masthead (although colourful) is quite plain, the bottom element is also quite plain but the image in the middle speaks, if you'll pardon the pun, volumes about what this magazine is all about.

I agree about the strange font upper left as it is difficult to read and I do like the panel at the bottom. I would just like to have seen bolder fonts used there and also in your masthead to really make it stand out.
But on the whole it's a good attempt at what does look like a genuine magazine.
