On the whole, I think I'm pretty useless at this design malarkey but putting together this lame and sorry attempt has kept me entertained for the day....so please enjoy.

I kept it plain and simple as I don't really have access to all the fancy stuff like Photoshop - and very much tongue in cheek!

Edit: Ooops....might've helped if I'd attached the image :D

You and me both, Skunky - having spent two years trying to make the world's only two-legged stool, I realised that DIY probably wasn't my forte.

would have looked better if the drill image had better resolution

Yeah, I agree.

But then it's a trade-off between an acceptable image or excessive filesize. The original pic of the drill in its native resolution is almost 2Mb but I wanted the page to be low-res (72dpi I think I went for) so it could upload/download easily...as it is, it's still .5Mb :!:

Any tips on getting that balance right would welcome though as I'm just dipping my toe into this "design" stuff. One thing's for sure though - I've never signed off the cover of a magazine on the basis of a screen image. I've always had a printers proof in my hand first.
