Workin on a new layout

I'm making my first css layout ever and just got through with the simple stlye (gunna photoshop it later). Designesd it in flash cuz i like the interface but.....ya. Im still working on the colors and such. Let me know wat u think.

Yeah, it could look quite decent.

Given a little depth - the welcome area could look like some electronic interface (or something more alive/active) (I mean the rounded corner rectangled areas).

A couple of shadows here and there will bring it to life more maybe.

I say go for it - and let us see the finished result.

The top right side looks like it has been cut off however.

That welcome area is actually a news box. Thats just what i put to show how it was set up.

i don't like the font in the nav. i agree with grant b, add some shadows. it looks a bit boring and won't actually appeal to the viewer:)
