The assignment was to make a pattern, this is what I came up with.

I have been trying to work on my typography lately. How does this look (overall) and what could I do to improve next time?

just make the font a little greyer, like tune down the opacity a touch.

is the G in together supposed to look like that?

i like it! but u might try to change color of the font for one of the words. maybe "together" or "yourselves" try make it red or something. maybe it wud look better. maybe it wont :p but i like it.
