I wanted you guys to take a look at my coming soon page.
I am starting up a website and just wanted something for people to look at until I get my site up. It's not much, just let me know what you guys think.

ok a few things. That looks like an ayato tutorial. I fyou do a tut at least switch it up a bit. Also the effect is cool but you cant read what it says. I wouldnt put it in a player interface. Just export it as a .flv from AE and use it in flash that way. Maybe add a little sound. All in all it is okay, but we as designers have seen that effect before so it is not too thrilling.

yes it is an ayatoweb tut. good catch, but it is just a temp page until I work on my site and get it done. I thought by changing the name to simonlacey.net it would be enough to pass as changed. I used flash 8 to export the movie and it is in a player. I have tested it in firefox and ie and saw the player in botI thought about adding sound, but like I said it is a very temp page so I would rather work on my site than spend time on something I am going to trash in a few days/weeks. anyways I appreciate your critique, do you have any suggestions on what I can do graphically to make the animation my own?

maybe add some shimmer or some kind of scaling or 3d camera to it. Also you can try skinning the player too to make it a little more exciting. Seems weird to have a player for a 5 sec clip. Just dont stick to the tut so much. Most clients wont know but we will ...:pa:

good ideas. I actually tried the 3d camera tutorial on aya last night... results were piss poor but I can add the 3d camera to stroke and get something more mine. thanks man, appreciate it.

also when it stops you see mothing but the beginning of the effect. Have it stop on a frame where you see everything or add to the scene where you can see the name at the end.
