i'm glad. i mean, i might not like some things in america, but i also don't like some things in croatia. living here has given me lots of opportunities to do what i love, some of which i would not have had if i lived in croatia. so all in all, i'm satisfied.

i haven't renounced croatian citizenship, i just have dual citizenship.

I dont go to big clubs in the city We have one in ouer place there is a smal club for us from 12 - 16 and these guys who are under 14 or 13 will not enter with 15 - 16 year old !

Anyway could someone fill me in about american citizenship ? (ie green card / visa / double nationality). Is it enough to marry an American-born or do you need to be settled for x number of years and have a job to acquire legal status ???

it sucks for me here because i'm 20 and the drinking age is 21 so i can't go to clubs unless i got a fake id, which i'm too lazy to get and for which a fine is $500. i turn 21 in august so i figure i can wait 3 more months, it's not worth $500. but anyways, all my friends are over 21 and sometimes it really blows. they're planning how drunk they're going to get me when i do turn 21 so that should be fun.

well, you can marry an american born citizen and become a citizen but you have to live with them in the states for like 21 months or something. and then INS does all these interviews to make sure the marriage is legit. etc.

we got our green card after waiting for two years. my mothers father was already a citizen so we could come here thru him. then after you get the green card, you have to live here for at least 5 years without leaving the country for more than 6 months. then you apply for american citizenship and it is now taking 6-7 months to get it after applying.
