You should have a consistent navigation

Consistent colors on the pedigree pages ARE red, white, and blue... Is this what you are referring to?

I'm talking about having navigational links on all your pages.

OK, are you suggesting adding the "links" for all dogs on all pages? Please elaborate.
Thanks

Here are the problems I noticed with this site:
1) First off it looks like it was thrown together real quick without any kind of pre-planning. Try to pre-plan your work next time and sketch some layouts on paper before you do any designing on the comp.
2) As for the layout, the text on your navigation is huge and it doesn't match the font used at the top. As a matter of fact, none of the fonts chosen relate to the site.
3) You should keep the layout the same in all of the sections. The way you have it now, the nav disappears if you click on something.
4) Why is there such a huge empty space at the bottom of your site? It seems odd to scroll down that far only to find a blank white area.
5) The use of flash on this site is really poor, you could of done all this with regular HTML. If you plan to use flash then you'll need to pre-plan your work. Good luck.

One Question: Is your website about dog fighting?
jkm
April 25th, 2003, 09:03 AM
No, this site has NOTHING to do with dog fighting.
This site was built for a very respectable American Bulldog breeder. Ha ha, those dogs wouldn't fight if they had to.
Anyway,
EG: The fonts, colors, and navigation were all hand picked by the client. I respect your opionions because you are a wonderful artist. Being harsh IS WHAT I NEED.

Ok, so include the nav on ALL pages, shrink the fonts, and keep the "poor" quality flash? This is built solely for EASY navigation I have GOT to keep the ppl. looking in mind. Oh, and the site tracker at the bottom of the page is where all the blank space comes from. I cannot figure out how to minimize this space.
This is only my FIRST Flash project. (not an excuse) just to let you know I am not claiming to be the greatest.
Where from here?
Thanks guys
Don't hold back on me... BRING IT!!!:beam:

Flash is for blowing people's minds out. Just stick with plain static pages if your flash doesn't turn out well.

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, Flash CAN blow people's minds out. But it also has many other capabilities. Why go static? I sometimes use Flash for posting pics. If it looks better and is more convienient, then why mess with static? It is very possible that I am missing something, due to the fact that I am a rookie.

Well it is getting better since last time you posted this site, or at least last time I looked at it.
You title is definatly more legible. I agree with what someone stated about the fonts though.
One of the most important rules of typography is not to overdue it on fonts and get too many going at once.
I would recommend choosing 2 fonts (header font included) and using those throughout your pages. Maybe 3 at most, depending on how you use them.
Also, you should work on the placement of the header, side links and picture on the homepage. I would try lining them up...looks like you have things centered, so maybe extend the header so that the edges all line up...understand what I mean?
And not everything has to take up so much room. White space is good!
Best wishes with your progress (-:

Personally, I think it really sucks ! Sry, but i do.
I mean, everything just stands at a spot making no sense. The Email icon, the counter, the stats icon, puppies born .... It makes your site look VERY cheap and messy. But yes, it's improved since the last time i saw it :).
1) When you click one of those buttons on the right, you enter a new page. And then, when you click one of those buttons in hat new page again, it jumps to antoher spot, and if you click another link again, it jumps again, and so on ...
2) When you click Pieces from Home, the link back to home is correct, but if you click it from the bar to the right when you have already clicked another name, it returns you to the home page and it should be returning you to the previous page instead.
Sorry for the negative comments but I'm just being honest ... :-\ I'm sure you can do better :)

First of all, thanks for the input. (even the really bad stuff)
Ok, I am rebuilding this entire site....
The following link will soon disappear.
I have to have this posted in the mean time (for my client)
The new site will be a Photoshop/Flash project.
Any small adjustments I need to make to the "temporary" site?

Yea, me either... But while I am working on something better, I just needed you all to go thru and let me know if there are any broken links, navigation problems, ect...
Yea, it was thrown together really quick for a client....THEY are happy, but I'm not.
