Hi everybody !

I completely redid my splash page on electrongeek advice. So how do you like it ? The page that open ("Detect") is used to detect the users resolution and redirect them to the page according to that resolution.

So eeh, how do y'all like it ? Check it here (http://www.voetsjoeba.tk) or here (http://users.pandora.be/voetsjoeba)

I can't even enter the site. All I see is a black screen with text on it.

i got to it ok.
it's pretty good , i like the rollover effect. but there are too many popups. i went earlier, and i had 3 or something pop ups (as in your site, not ads)

but good.

hej Voetsjoeba ...

there are a couple of comments i wanna make about your site ...

first of all ... you should definately change the font you use at the moment cause the text is kinda hard to read.
(check out kirupa's tutorial on creating smooth looking text)

second .... mebbe you can take a look at your colouring scheme
one more time ... it is really dark (mebbe even a bit too dark)

check out this link for some ideas concerning colour layout

D:xmn, why can't people see my splash page ?? I obviously have to make my code more browser friendly ... I use Internet Explorer 6.0 and Windows XP Home, works fine for me ...

Anyway if you can't see the splash page : for 1024x768 click here (http://users.pandora.be/voetsjoeba/splash1024x768.html) and for 800x600 here (http://users.pandora.be/voetsjoeba/splash800x600.html) and tell me what you think of the splash page ( only the splash page plz ).

1) About that font : I know, on my stage it looks perfectly crisp but in my swf it's kinda blurry ( and yes i read the kirupa tutorial (read them all ))

2) The pop-ups: I have to add some javascript to Detect to close it after the splash page has opened ... It's just that my 'creation' pc is upstairs and my 'put-online' pcv downstairs, and after i've finished the page i was too lazy to go downstairs and search for the javascript to close it :beam:

3) The colouring scheme : I'm recreating my website but first I wanted to see if people like my splash page ( exactly for the reason of the colouring scheme i'll use)

Any more comments are welcome :)

Oh yeah, I forgot, i use a Dot.tk domain but i learned that the servers are kinda messy so sometimes it doesn't wanna load. The direct link is http://users.pandora.be/voetsjoeba. If that doens't work, check the links metnioned in the post above

Ok I'll try that but I don't think that'll make much of a difference ... :)

try 32 fps, that's what i use, anything more won't work on old browsers... if you want an example try this (http://www.ubwhour.com/saintsimon/) link, or this (http://www.ubwhour.com/saintsimon/splash) one...
the first one is my unfinished personal portfolio, but should offer a good example of how smooth 32fps is. the second is a splash page the upcoming "state of mung" website.

good luck!:nerd:

I don't think the browser affects the processer speed of a user's computer.

Ok, I'll set it to 32fps one of these days ... Can't right now cuz my dad is working on my room putting polyester on the walls so it's an awful smell :smirk:
