Right... where am I going wrong?
Took a photo (jpg), cut-out section I wanted, converted marquee to path, then was disappointed that it was pixelating.... so, tried the hard-fill, feather, anti-alias... but all still pixelate badly.
So... copy the path over into a new file PNG... still pixelating!
How do I get a path to do normal clean vector fills???
Cheers......

are you sure your zoom is 100%? fireworks usually pixelates everything when magnification ist not 100%...

what was/is the quality of the .jpg?
Is is a photo you took or got off the web?
I wonder how many times it has been manipulated before you got it.

I ripped it off the net... but that shouldn't matter, as I just used that to create some paths. Then delete the rest of the JPG and copy it over the PATH only into the PNG.
Then... do a simple fill on it. Then when zooming-in it pixelates, whereas I would expect Fireworks to re-render as a vector object and make it nice-n-smooth for me.
Then again, just tried drawing a plain circle, and zooming in, and that pixelates also. Try it yourself... really annoying when you're trying to work on a big piece and what to zoom-in to touch-up the details.
Verdict: BACK TO ILLUSTRATOR & P-SHOP!! :mario:

yea, that is normal, the pixelation of paths. I would use illustrator if you need to zoom in of paths. I think of FW as a vector web tool.
