Ok I am in a boggle here....

What I am trying to do is find a remote host for an FTP server.

I have a bunch of clients that consistantly need to upload large files such as CAD drawings to us here at my work.

I know any host could provide FTP service, but I need the ability to set up indivudual usernames and passwords for certain dirrectioies. We dont have any internal servers at my location to do this so I need to look elsewhere.

An anyonomous FTP was was fine for a while, but allot of our customers are competitors with eachother and we cant have them seeing eachothers prototype drawings.

Anyone know of a remote FTP solution?

BTW, if it could also point our domain "choftp.com" to it that would also be huge.

Thanks.

I dont know if this is what you mean really, but, theres a program out there called BulletFTP (I believe) that lets you setup usernames and passwords, and I think it'll let you do it for seperate directories aswell, but Im not sure.. Try it out though, you never know, I may be right once in my life :P

if you have a server you can set up diffrent accounts for each client and restrict their access to the folder you specify theres a few ftp server apps if you want to host the ftps locally on your server or host

here a a few links to some ftp server apps

http://www.bpftpserver.com/
http://proftpd.linux.co.uk/
http://www.serv-u.com/

you can find more if you google for ftp server hope that helps :beam:
