Animated Lines?

I just want to know if there's a tutorial out there for the effect I'm trying to learn.

The effect involves flash drawing the outline of an object (ie, let's say a tree) I'm guessing this has to do with actionscript? I guess I'm looking for a way to have my line "draw" it out as it were as the viewer watches.

I've tried to look for the tutorial everywhere, but with no luck.

Also, I thank you all very much for the help you've given me for the short time I've been here. My friends definitely weren't lying when they said this was an excellent place to get help on flash.

you are trying to complicate your life with actionscript. hehehe...

have you worked with masks yet? draw your tree outline on one layer... on a second layer create a mask... you could do keyframe animation to trace the outline, or you could try to do a shapetween that will trace the outlines...

yes, that's all... if you do shape tween it might get a little messy if you don't do it properly... all the work is worth it though.
