So some new movie trailers are out, namely
Pirates of The Caribbean
T3 (international)
and the Hulk (international)

The Hulk, I can say, is much better than the previous trailers and I pretty much want to see it now, at least a lot more than I did before which was pretty much ... not much. Pirates of The Caribbean is along the same lines, but thats pretty predictable since the previous trailer gave you about nothing from the movie. Im still not all THAT impressed but Johnny Depp is hella cool and seems to play a good role. T3 is also a little better. The trailer is, I think, a little more fast paced and seems to show more effects. Seems a little more interesting now and of course Claire Danes is a cutie...

which brings me to something I noticed yesterday. The Brokedown Pallace DVD (a movie with claire danes) was in a bargin at a department store I went to yesterday (for hersheys nuggets MMmmmmm) for $5. I figured that was pretty cheap because I thought it was a decent movie. Ive seen it twice... but probably would never watch it again because, well I dont want to. This is why I didnt get it then. The reason I bring this up is because Brokedown Palace is the only movie that ever made me cry. Yeah I cried at the end there. lol I dont know why I cried.. I mean yeah I know WHY but normally something like that wouldnt have any effect on me. I guess I was just emotional at the time. But I think that means something when a movie makes me cry - either that it was captivating and I was really involved with the story and had an emotional connection with the characters, or that Im just a big weenie, one of the two.

There was one other movie that almost made me cry, and that was Saving Private Ryan - that part where they are about to give the mother the letters of her sons dying. This was the 3rd or fourth time I saw the movie. Then, it had a bigger impact because 1, I knew it was coming, and 2, I had just before then been pretty intensly educated on the horrors and hardships of the war. With that I felt it on the inside... but I didnt break down into tears that time. BP got me though, sneaky bastage.

Anywho, back to movie news NOT having to do with myself and crying.... ;)

The newest Matrix movies will be brought to IMAX as well as the big screen... though the IMAX really is the BIG screen in that case. Reloded being in IMAX theaters about 3 weeks after initial release and revolutions should open in IMAX at the time of release (coinciding with other theaters). That should be a treat. (and as we know from a previous post the new matrix reloaded trailer is also out)

Also, as with Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers DVD will be released as a 'normal' edition at first this summer (6/28/03) with the extended edition coming out in the fall (11/18/03). I held out for the extended for fellowship... Im pretty sure I can do the same for TTT this time around. w00t

There's been a shortage of good films recently... Lord Of The Rings was excellent. I'm planning on seeing The Hulk though. And The Matrix. That's probably one of my favourite films ever, along with American Beauty...

I didn't see American Beauty.... yet. Will watch it shortly.
I think T3 is gonna suck. I liked the two first movies, but this one... I don't know. I'm going to see it anyway.
And then there's The Matrix. Woooo, I want to see this one! And Xmen2 as well!
I saw Black Hawk Down recently... which wasn't bad, but I like We Were Soldiers or Saving Private Ryan better for a war movie. Windtalkers totally sucks.
28 Days Later is scary... like The Ring. If you don't like to be scared like hell, don't go to these two.

There ya go. :)

American Beauty is a fantastic film. :)

It's the best I've seen Kevin Spacey act, he outdoes himself. There's some really funny bits in there, as well as the more serious things. You can read a lot into that film.

Kitiara & Senocular, allright, allright, I'll watch it... I promise I won't forget :)
I heard it was good (sorry, *extremely good* ;) ) but I don't even remember seeing the poster or anything...

Grimdeath, 28 Days Later is basically a zombie movie. It's kind of predictable, but if you like this genre, go see it. There's a virus that kills everyone, or transforms them into zombies that are after one thing: healty humans for lunch. Now, that's a bit of a problem for them, 'cause there are no many healty humans left. Anyway, I think "AAAAAH!! LOOK OUT!! BEHIND YOU!! HARG HARG GRRRRR!!" combined with ikky faces and blood everywhere is the best way to describe this movie. ;) The Ring has a better story, but if you're looking for scary moments, 28 Days Later does the trick too.

Hm, like every other "wannabe special movie", there are black and white reviews for this one:

1) IT TOTALLY KICKS ***!!!!!111 W@W!
2) meh

I think I'll wait for the DVD. To rent.

Lucky you...

It's a close call between this film and The Matrix for my favourite film ever, but American Beauty wins... :)

OK, I just saw American Beauty, which I think was really good, honestly. But "best movie ever"? Don't think so. It has some great stuff, and never gets boring or too predictable, and that makes it good. But I think Fight Club or Donnie Darko are at least equal in "being special". Maybe even more... Kevin Spacey is the best thing this movie has! The man can act!

Conclusion:
Bigger then The Matrix? Naaaaah! :P ;)

I still have to see Donnie Darko :!: Thats on my weekend hitlist
