BetaFlux: Lostinbeta/Unflux Collaborative Photoshop Work

Alright everyone, Unflux and I decided to do a collaborative Photoshop piece together. It was originally decided to do it in private, but it was recommended to us by EG to post the stages here in the Battle section.

We agreed, perhaps this will get more people interested in collab battles instead of competitive battles!


So what exactly are we doing?

Well it is simple... we both decided on an image to use, and kind of a semi-theme to follow and keep in mind when we work on it. We will each then modify/add to the image whatever we see fit in our creative imaginations. Usually there are set rules as to how many times passed back and forth, or how much exactly is added. But we decided to just keep it going until we both consider it complete, and we can add whatever we want before we pass it back to eachother.


Its pure fun, and a great way to combine styles and practice skills.

I like it... I don't want my flowers with eyes, but I like the idea... collaberative battles... I Like It...

LOL... somehow I knew that would come up :P It was a joint decision on the theme. And you gotta admit, stock photos of flowers are among the easiest to find anywhere :)

Flowers with eyes are the best.... they watch you as you smell them.... creepy yet soothing.... or is it?

I coulda given you a bunch of choices of flower images... I even have a 24x36 close up of a rose bud my mother shot 20 yrs ago hanging in my living room...

Soul: Who knows when it will be finished? This could go on for ages..lol. It will be done when be both feel enough has been added and we both like it.

As for being part of the next one... who says you can't start your own? You just gotta make sure you have a way to pass the .psd file between you and your partners (they get pretty hefty).

Alright, sorry for the long long long delay people, that was completely my fault, my Photoshop kept freezing my ghetto computer and I wasn't able to work on this. I recently did some work on my comp and got Photoshop to work semi-ok and let me do this so here we go....

well this got me thinking of a new battle type (actually, I don't know if it is new or not... but I just thought it up) basically you find a picture and both decide on a theme. Then each person works on their image until x date, or just until they are both done. Then they post the results. It would be cool to see each persons take on the same theme with the same image. Anyone think thats a cool idea?

APDesign: There are 2 types of battles, competitive and collaborative. The competitive has a selected theme, type of media, size, etc, and when everyone is done, it gets voted upon. The collaborative method however, is exactly how you stated. You start off with something, and take turns adding to it until you are done (some people set a certain amount of turns for each person).

Unflux and I originally did this to show people that they don't have to compete all the time, you can do collabs and create some neat stuff as well.

yeah, but you guys are passing off the image, in my version you would never see the other persons image, you both work completely independantly on the same image.

Then thats just a form of a competitive battle. You would just agree on the set of rules and the theme would be a photo manipulation of the agreed image.
