help publishing flash

I used a tutorial that was posted here by Colin Moock. It is a very good tutorial and I followed everything. My flash scroll buttons are working well when published as a flash doc but when I publish as an html doc the text does not appear. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong wqhile publishing??
