Greetings, fellow posters! I was visitting a website of which name I have unfortunately forgotten. It measured my internet speed (i.e. throughput) and reported an above average result. I then, without knowing the consequences, chose an option on the site that would supposedly increase my internet performance. What I wish to know is how do I reverse this? My ping in the online game 'Counter Strike' and many other computer games was steady at about 20-50 and now it holds up at around 150 and sometimes even increases to several thousand. Laughing out loud, please help me resolve this issue.
Hi!
It's unfortunate that you have forgotten which site that you visited caused all these problems, because if we would know the exact site, we could read up or see what it does to your system settings so we would then know how to reverse that. Now, we can just speculate but I doubt anyone can give you a concrete solution.

I can assure you a speed test will not change any settings. You should really do some research before making these outrageous claims.

You can try to tweak all you want but be informed, don't just click s*it 'cause it says it will make it faster. If that was the case you would have alreay heard of it by now, playing with MTU and stuff when your already on high-speed it really kind of useless in the end anyway. Realisticaly, you might get 1 or 2 lower ping, but it really is not gonna help you pwn at CS:S some of the best CAL I players in the world are on dial-up, remember that.
