2Advanced Interface design tools?

I hear alot of talk about using "paint" programs to do interfaces and them importing them into Flash as PNG's. Do you ever worry about file sizes that way?

I'm trying different tools and would love some input.

I love the look of 2Advanced and if you've seen the program optimaze, the interface's are really cool. I love the way they get those 3d looking main interface. Does anyone know if they are drawn in Flash? If so, any tuts on how to do those 3d looking boxes and shapes in FMX.
These are the type of interfaces I'd like to do.

there are severaly ways you can go. I know with some clever shading you can pull off some cool 3d boxes with vectors. I believe optimaze only optimizes vector content so if you have .bmp in your flash those would need to be ooptimized in a proggy like fireworks (which I find compresses .png's better). With some clever photoshopping you can pull off some cool stuff with out 3d. I would suggest look at the stick post above this one for all the tuts you will ever need. But if you wanna use 3d with minimal file cost you can use swift. Best bang for the buck
