It does look similar to DW, For soem reason it seems like MS has tried to make a carbon copy or DW. Im about to watch there image editor, i doubt ti will match adobe software.

I am really glad MS is thinking of the designer finally. I have seen (and produced) some really ugly user interfaces for Windows apps. I can now finally ship my UI out to a designer easily. It has always been a pain in the past with MS technologies.

Down with MS!!!!!!!
They will try, but it will never work. Except for some people Frontpage worked (In my opinion the worst program ever made for the HTML illiterate)

I don't like Microsoft's software because they always try to push more and more of their OWN version of whatever open source or standard web technology is out there. That way they get more Windows-only websites, etc.
Very nice try Microsoft, but I'm gonna wait and see what wonderful piece of software Adobe-Macromedia will make.

Somebody has to compete with Adobe now that they took over Macromedia, or you will not see any innovation.

^ yeah that for sure, After watching all the demo's on all 3 apps yesturday I was actually quite impressed. Web designer in particular looks really good and I like the fact they are focusing on css layouts. Interactive designer will find it hard to win votes over flash but then again with vista around the corner it looks like this will be the app to create widgets and apps for the vista os.
Again all positives for the consumers!

I can't wait till the Expression Web Designer suite is out for trial. That's the one I am most looking forward to (besides the SharePoint Designer 2007), for if it integrates well with the FrontPage Extensions, then I have found the WYSIWYG-portion of my FrontPage replacement :nat:

I think they will :) but I won't be using them.
millions of .net developers have been waiting a long time for something like this, they no longer need to use 3rd party tools and slog over communication between two technologies now they have the option of using a tool which is much easier to work with.

Exactly not only that but this is flash on steroids since this is to make windows applications not richmedia websites which is what flash has been used for.
Expressions integration with .net will be the key factor of its success but I doubt expression will compete against flash since they both have diffrent uses.
This is great news for app developers though they no longer have to rely on pngs and crappy animated gifs.
Lets see how Vista incorporates this GUI since it looks to be far more interactive than what OSX has at the moment.

It seems like Expression Web Designer will be going out to limited testers in April. I just got accepted into the EWD April Technology Preview, and there may be a few more spots left at http://connect.microsoft.com.
I can't wait :P
