Takes for ever to export????

I can't figure out why a 500k simple file takes over 4 minutes to publish on a G4 tower!!!

Simple enough file - some masks, some simple animation, few bitmaps, no sound.

A combination of text anti-alliacing options is used (from none to "for readability).

Any suggestions what to look for????

well...hmmm.. the only thing i can think of is, because flash file size is soo low, what your trying to export might increase in size by double or triple its original file size?

By embedding ALL character in your textbox might take a while to export (an add some bytes too). Incase that happen, just embed only the characters u needed. ;) well, it happened to me once..

Flash has a bug with it's caching and can take a long time to export sometimes. :( It happens to me all the time. Very annoying.

I never have any troubles, what are you all trying to export?

I beleive it only occurs when you use AS2 classes???

Dear all,

Thank you for sharing your ideas. I've actually gone in to make sure all characters are only exported for what's needed, got rid of all as2 classes and still there is a lag in exporting.

It does seem like a cashing issue, which is really really inconvenient. If i find anything new on the subject, i'll make sure to post it.
