Look around in there. And also, click on the

Watch the video of possible usages

thing, and they have one umpc model that is completely, well, hott :D.
It's the one under the
Mix Work And Pleasure
category in that webpage/flash presentation.

Anyone see a price, location to buy, or maybe stats on how fast it is?

It looks cool, but I want to know if I can afford it, if itd available to purchase right now, or If I can run Medal of honor or something on it :D

Here are more pictures: http://news.com.com/2300-1044_3-6047702-1.html?part=rss&tag=6047702&subj=news (http://news.com.com/2300-1044_3-6047702-1.html?part=rss&tag=6047702&subj=news)

The current generation is expected to go for under $1000, but by next year the price is expected to go below $500.

on CNN they announced price between $600 and a $1000.

one weak thing about this new object: battery life, its good only for 2 hours.

Bah 2 hours. What's the point of having something portable if it needs to be plugged in most of the time...

actually 3 hours , my mistake I was listening to the news and I heard them saying 2 hours, but reading news on CNN I found 3 hours.

but still 3 hours is nothing

Even 3 hours is pissy. Interesting idea though.

yeah, it should atleast last a day. well, we all go to sleep at night (most of us). so the user can charge it at night, and use it the whole day...

What use does this have? It could never be used as a normal computer, and it's not portable enough (and has too bad of a battery life) to be used anywhere away from your desk.

I don't get it…

I was excited about origami but I started bringing my expectations down last week when the rumors as to the specs began to surface-- and rightly so. The Origami is an amazing letdown for me. Doesn't even have a Wacom-style digitizer, just a pocketpc type. Bevel is way too think for my tastes. It's a rebranded, overglorified Tablet PC.

I'd MUCH rather lay down a small amount of extra cash and pick up a Motion LS800 which fits a bigger screen on a smaller chassis and has much, much better specs.

wow, MS should stick to just the OS for portables (PPC's).

How to make an Origami PC a revolution (in my opinion):

+ Multitouch Screen
+ High Density OLED
+ Exchangable face plates (so your $500+ investment doesn't get the crap scratched out of it.)

What do you guys want?

^Multi touch screen would really wouldnt make me happy...

+High Density OLED thingy you said for that nice crisp pic.
+Size of a Pocket PC! Even if it only has 1gig Storage i wouldnt care as long as it had card slots.
+I dont care about the Face plates getting scratched.
+Removable Battery is by far the best idea in the Pocket PC line sort of adapt that to it would be great.

Wonder how long until we get a version of linux to run on it? Hmmm. No I'll just wait for Apple to make the sexier, (mostly) virus-free version.
