simplistik: yup, that's a real phone. i didn't think it was good placement either.

all these were made in Maya (versions 5.5 to 6.5) using subdivision surface modeling and rendered with Mental Ray.

the sink uses only image based lighting. the phone uses both IBL and a studio lighting setup. the car uses a directional skylight and final gathering.
