well, you've got a tree. That makes it a top notch flash website, good work.

Ahahaha. I actually saw your post about that in some other thread and thought "Wow...I can bet I'll see some comment from him about the tree."

I swear to you, I didn't even realize that Flash sites were so overrun with the tree graphic when I was conceptualizing this. Any other thoughts though beyond that? Haha.

Yes. I believe that there is no central focal point in this design. It's like all the components of the design are fighting for dominance. I believe you should find one or two important elements in your design and run with them. Right now it really confuses the viewers eyes and takes away from the design...:)

but otherwise, nice work.

I liked the actual graphics but the way the content is presented looked out of place :( Also maybe think about ditching the pop up and making it just in a normal window but 100% would look ten times better.

Good.

Yeah, I had thought about ditching the pop-up when I get around to registering a .com so that blasted .tk black bar on top doesn't ruin the flow.

By 100% do you mean make it so that an entire page is the website and when someone re-sizes the window, the main flash part follows but the background doesn't move?

Thank you all for these detailed comments, they'll help me as I continue to design and improve upon past mistakes.

some of the rays from the moon (the ones at the bottom) look as though a mask has cut them off. Nice work, good atmosphere.

I think its nice, except for

a) the entrance page, no need for it
b) a popup window, you should just make a single html page where the flash is 100% width and height and tehres some function to center your site in the page edit: G beat me to it
c) the fact that you have "This site requires Flash 8 *get flash 8 button* within a swf negates the entire purpose of having that feature.
d) Why is the entrance page flash anyways? for that simple fade? i'd ditch it and make it straight html, if you decide to keep the entrance page.

Fasterthanlight seems on the ball with his comments. Its a interesting looking piece of work, if you described this site to me I'd probably of thought it sounded awful, but it works really nicely.

A 100% width site would suit this so much better.

The whole portfolio section feels wrong, it just doesn't feel right loading in the sky. Is there anyway you could incorporate it into the 1st box that pops up?

For slickness I'd also trim back your grass (its a bit too long and thick at the mo') and perhaps give it slight wind motion.

Keep up the good work, loving the silhouette to :kommie:

Thank you for all the comments, I actually agree with all of them but to my defense...the pop-up I felt needed to be done until I register a .com. That .tk black bar really would take away from the atmosphere im attempting to create.

a) Noted. I'll probably take it off when I register a .com
c) Haha, I really never thought about that. Thank you for pointing out that contradicting element.
d) Yeah, I'll probably do that right now.

Yeah, I'll probably go back into photoshop and edit that part so it fades out more before hitting the blue

e) you need to add a radial burst

Can you elaborate? Where do I add it and what do you mean by a 'radial burst'?

unclensond

For slickness I'd also trim back your grass (its a bit too long and thick at the mo') and perhaps give it slight wind motion.

I might modify the grass as you say..but this part I personally thought was well-suited (length and width). The wind effect I tried to get on there for a couple of days but I couldn't find any script or tutorial that would work the way I wanted. Trust me, I knew that this effect would greatly enhance the atmosphere I'm trying to create...I just couldn't figure out how to do it.

The whole portfolio section feels wrong, it just doesn't feel right loading in the sky. Is there anyway you could incorporate it into the 1st box that pops up?

Yeah, I struggled to find a good place for it. I'll link a few to load in the 1st box and see how it looks.

Hmm, everyone keeps talking about this 100% width and height. I have a question about it if someone could answer me... Do you mean just place this site in the center of a solid color background that will stay center even when the window is re-sized? Or do you mean...make it a full-screen site that morphs to whatever window size you have(this..i don't think i'm capable of doing...)?

Thank you all for all of the input, I highly appreciate it and am grateful for it.

Do you at least like the atmosphere I created? Haha.

Like the site! But as already stated, no need for the splash, if you want it: no popup and I like to add that the site itself is too high... Keep the browser scroller and it'll be fine! Good job :thumb:

 i was just beein silly. A lot of faster's art has a radial burst in the background, and he used to suggest it a lot too  Check out threads started by him and you'll see what I'm talkin bout. But I didn't really mean for you to do it.

Maybe Kirupa's Grass Field (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/grass.htm) tut may of some help.

I can't find a site that does the 100% background now and centralises itself....there are loads that do the centralise stage, but i ca't remember any that do the background too....anyone?

Really cool graphics and lovely animations...but the fonts just don't seem to fit...the fonts are all high tech and and don't really go with the fantastical graphics....

Thank you for the compliments both of you.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the font, Leoni. I tried to find a good, small pixel font that would fit and I felt this set was the best that I could get ahold of. I'll consider changing it up in the future, but thank you for your input. Any advice is appreciated.
