Uhm... I think you'd have to cancel your current subscription and hope to high heavens you get some money back.

i recommend hostrocket -

http://www.hostrocket.com

they have GREAT hosting from $9.95 US a month, it's who my site is hosted by. They have really good uptime, and all the bells and whistles you could hope for.

but the down fall is that its going to cost me 115 a year, i pay 30 something over at doteasy. All i really want is to get PHP, but its 60 bucks for 6 months. SO if i buy it there, it would be alot cheaper. you see what i mean?

alex, go for it, and phil i think your numbers are off
i get 400 mb of space and 30 gig transfer there.. and they only have one plan
or maybe my numbers are off
regardless, alex, go to ipowerweb, it will be worth it when your site grows

i guess it would be cheaper going to ipowerweb because if i get a forum up for my friends, i would have to keep renewing it every 6 months. So i am still in the thinking process.

contact doteasy and ask them if they offer a money back guarantee kind of thing.. it doesnt say anywhere on their site ;(

**********edit********

if they dont, you can host your forum somewhere else like tripod.lycos.com :)

i sent doteasy an email, and i told them that i might be swithcing, and if i would get any money back. I also said since i would be leaving because the cost of the PHP was expensive, So i hope that they try to get me to stay by lowering the price. (*im keeping my fingers crossed*)

alex dns is donamin name server its what directs the user to your website ie: www.yourwebsite.com its just a name for an ip address thats assigned to your website so dont worry about messing anything up when you switch hosts they tell you what dns info you have to change in order to have your site directed to your new host if you have problems just post and im sure someone will help you out if not pm me or email me i will be more than gald to help you out buddy ;)

Often times the *new* host will handle all that switching for you and have you live within 72 hrs.
(the switch takes place with the registry that registered your domain name)... go look up your domain name then do a *whoIs* search and all the register info will be there

You guys are talking serious money requirements!!! I have php and mysql and all the goods simply on my own computer, a bit slow upload speed but incredibly cheap to get a domain and forward it, only 10 bucks. :)
