I've been looking around for a motherboard and a friend said some stuff about DDR2 instead of DDR for speed and stuff... So I was just wondering, does "2 DDR channels" mean that I can use DDR2 on the motherboard? I know almost nothing about hardware, especially when it comes to RAM :D
Just curious, cause I can't find any motherboard that says "DDR2 compatible" or something in that fashion...
EDIT: And can someone please explain what DDR2 really is :D I don't really get it I:-)

i believe what your motherboard is saying its that it support dual Channel DDR.

Its probably better if you can look up your motherboard specifics to see if it supports ddr2, DDr2 is just a newer type of Ram that allow higher bandwidth of data to travel via the chips and throughout your mboard, your motherboard needs to be compatible in order to be a similar data speed and ddr2 chips wont work on a ddr motherboard.

thanks for the answer! But do you recomend I get a mboard that supports DDR2 or should I just go with regular DDR's? I mean, is it worth it?

it depends on what your processor supports.
