so here's 4 work in progress wallpapers i made for my band, let me know what you think so i can make them better. i'd love to hear your comments and suggestions. let 'er rip ;)

:) do you think it's too cheesy? too obvious/generic heavy metal? too nu-metal? originally i was going for a comic book thing, then a boris vallejo thing, then just exploring. i put up a new mostly gray scale version which i think looks kinda nice.

My favourite out of all 4 of them is the first one. Just looks nice with the grey scale background and the red text on it. And yeah, really nice font too.

poor execution, looks like very quick bad mods in PS with no care taken to create something strong. it is very weak and just filters from PS. go back to the drawing board, pick a new typeface if you want metal, try some new designs that show more of the bg. right now it just looks like fangs without a face or anything. if thats what you want, draw just the fangs and do it w/o the other part of the face that distracts.

last wallpaper looks horrible, platic wrap filter.
but keep working

you're absolutely right about the quick mods in PS. i spent most of my time on modeling the shapes and the teeth. i'm not happy with the font at all. i think i need to do something hand drawn for the band name.

it's supposed to be semi-abstract, so that's why there's no "face". i wanted to have something that looked partially like a wolf's head with horns and fangs, but mostly just shapes that suggest, not a literal wolf's head. thanks for the input, i definitely need to work on these some more. (and i agree about the plastic wrap filter ;) that's just me playing around with it.)
