fonts were mentioned, but nothing specific. You should really level them out so they're all on the same plane. The font itself is a bit fuzzy, is that a pixel font? if it is, you should make sure it's set on a whole coordinates. If not, I would highly recommend using one in flash. Here's a great site to get started with pixel fonts for flash, and free too: http://www.orgdot.com/aliasfonts/

otherwise, the basics are good. test tube for a preloader is a great idea to spruce it up a bit. I'm not a fan of the colors on the black, but they work well even though I don't consider them to mesh with the subject of the site. Maybe lighten up the bg to something tan or brownish instead of black.

Wow ^^ Unflux posted!! (I haven't seen him around in a while!)

- to your site I say it's a start but it seems a little too rudamentary...(i have no idea how to spell that word...) But uh, yeah I'd say if you could come up with a better design that it would improve what you are originally going for...and a hint...the tiled background isn't working for ya! :thumb:

I wouldn't say it's too basic, it's meant to be. People have to understand as designers, the point of a web site is to dissemenate information -- what good is that if the info can't be found easily? I'm not exactly sure why you say it's too simple: simple is good and overlooked too many times. :)

there's no need to reinvent the wheel each and every time you design. Designing web sites is supposed to be fun. And in the end, as I already mentioned, be able to give information quickly and easily. How you present that info is the key, but "less is more" I always say.

be sure to post an update when you get one Denise.

yeah I wasn't saying that simple was bad...I like simple...I was just comenting more on the design...I think that it's a start but that with a little more time that site could really be something that displays the content as needed but with a pleasing feel that keeps the viewer interested and there at the site for more than a few mins...(websites have a lot of pressure because people will take a very short amount of time - a few seconds - to determine whether or not they will stay and look around)

Still should think about the Pixel font thing.

I like those colors alot...seems to fit well. Kinda old school 70's...But the execution kinda lets me down. I think it is the presentation that kills it. The navigation could be a little more enticing as well. I'll add to my crit in a bit.
