I think they should be more "glossy" if you know what I mean. Also theres a bug on the roll overs. It swaps depths on rollout.

Yeah, the rollover at the moment seems sort of glitchy/ non-fluid.

Add a gloss to the top of each button!:)

they are actually quite advanced, they use the tween and depth manager class. Look in the Flash help for "tween class" and "depthmanager".

Looks good. But like the others have said, the buttons are a bit "jumpy" when you rollover them in certain areas.

The buttons themselves are very nice. You need to work on your tweening. Make sure that when the move out from underneath the stage (before the swap-depths) that you ease out the motion, aswell as ease in, before you swap depths and change direction. That would make it much smoother.

yeah, it's when you roll over the edges of them. I have transparent hit spots where they normally rest so that they don't tween themselves out from under your mouse. I think i'm just gonna play with the tween type, right now they are Regular.easeOut.

edit, but now that i think about it, they should probaly be "Regular.easeOut on coming out, then "Regular.easeIn" on coming back

I had this problem happen to my buttons once. Try cutting the code and then repasting it. For some reason that workd for me.

what problem?

what problem? The "jerkiness" of the movement. One alternative is to have a static invisible mc behind each button, and do the hitTest on that. It eliminates the problem of rolling over the edges.

I took care of that already, and I believe the jerkiness is in the way i implemented the tween. I'm gonna play with the easing and see if i can make it a little more organic.

found an error. when you move your mouse in between the holder and the background, up towards the buttons, the button will get stuck outside of the holder and just bounce back and forth. it is when the mouse hits between the background and the holder when it pops out. it keeps doing the initial tween effect it looks like. hard to explain, but let me know if you can't get it stuck like i am describing.

edit: also gets stuck when your mouse sits on top of the button when it is tweened away from the holder...keeps firing event

cool... thats the kind of information i posted this about, not technical functionallity.
I am looking for input on the 'design'. Thanx designapp.

A comment like that makes it sound like you don't appreciate some of the help that's been offered. I don't mean to be a pain but you could have the coolest design in the world, but if it doesn't work properly you could lose half if not all of your audience right away.

We're just trying to help you on the website as a whole.

I do appreciate the help with the technical stuff, but i'm not worried about the AS. I can do AS, I only spent like 8 mins on the code, i'm aware it has issues.

Like DDD's dad says "Pooring syrup on crap doesn't make it pancakes" (i've always wanted to say somewhere)

Wish I could see the thing though... firewall I'm behind blocks direct ip address :(

There, updated with text, gloss, new(more natural) tween, and sans glitches. Now what do you think?

hmm.. i don't know, I just don't like the button, it just don't fit....

maybe you want to consider putting torn paper as your menu or put paper clips or something.....

look at this site: http://www.eendar.com/

very simple menu concept but it fit in.......

Canvas background w/ glass overlay buttons seems sorta like fruit salad with chili pepper dressing.

They are both good things but they don't go together.
