website + matching business cards

ok, we had a big fuss over the last layout (too slow, coded ****ty, etc,etc) so what i have done is taken the concept i did a while back (a cardboard background with sticky tack, tape, post-it notes, etc, and transformed it into something else. it will be in flash, it may take a while to be finished because i am not a flash expert yet, but i'll try and get er up and running soon.

i pay all the credits to simp and j for the rounded edges idea on the cards. lemme know if you guys have any problems with the design and i'll try and make some changes.

for the most part it is great looking and clean... The only thing I don't like is the navi on the site... The font seems out of place... and ps- I have that font, loL!

Don't like the site with the contact info, mainly the typography. The colours are good. I like the feel of the wood but I don't quite get the point of the wood, maybe you could work it into the design more as in a woodcut piece/cigar box/ grocco print...

the one with the contact info will be the matching business card to the site.

navbar doesn't look good with that font. great incorporation of your logo on the site bg, btw:)

update::::::: the wood makes it a little more appealing just because its not such a flat colour then, and i like the look of it......changed the nav and font on business card aswell

I dunno something isnt quite sittin right with me on the biz cards. I am not a big fan of the rounded edges (especially the highly rounded ones). Maybe its the bgrd I dont know. Also on the backside your text is dangersouly close to the edge. Not a very good idea. Due to bleeds and the fact that edges get messed up on cards and your text could get ruined.

All in all good job, just not my cup of tea.

As for the design of the cards, I call DDD. And I raise him this... you need to choose a better secondary font to compliment your logo, it's competing way to much with the logo, and on top of the wood detracting from the logo... it doesn't help it's case.

As for the site. I guess it's pretty ok... the wood again... just not on the mark. The nav needs to be reworked... the curves need to be refined and the font needs to be changed, and get rid of the reflection, it's not complimentary to the rest of the site.

Lastly:

yes the cards do look very similar, but i really want the website and cards to go hand in hand. take away the reflection??? i think the nav looks a little scarce without the reflection...

u think i should make the edges on the cards not so rounded? and yes i noticed that the font is a little close to the edge.

IMO the corners should be made less rounded and the fonts shouldn't be so close to the edges.
I agree 100% with Simp and DDD, they're always right!
