Just came across this one: alanagrace.com (http://www.alanagrace.com)

I dig it for it's non-conventional use of Flash--while the file size is probably huge, I'm a big advocate of bitmaps and I think this site makes good use of them. Also, lots of hidden little knick-knacks make this one definately worth a mention.

i think that site is crap. it uses that sliding/easing menu which is totally played out, it is HUGE... i have 1600x1200 but the computer i'm on right now has 1024x768 and i can't look at the whole page. when you mouseover the crows the most annoying screetch in the world takes over my ears. ahhh.

its very generic and uses common flash fads in an uninteresting way.

I could have sworn they were playing that evanescence (I have no idea how to spell that) song from a couple years back. I guess it was just her song that was ... heavily influenced? Yeah. Unless that was that song and she's the girl from that band, but I don't think so. And gigantor websites = RAWR.

I'm not really in a position to provide you with any material insight as to the technological or design quality of the site... I thought it could have done without some of the annoying little sounds (that mini driving off was driving me crazy)... and as far as the music... xxviii nailed it right on the head... she's a total Amy Lee wannabe (Amy Lee is the singer from Evanescence).
This girl has a couple of things going for her though:
1. She's hot as hell
2. She has an above average voice
3. There are nearly 300 million people in the US, so I'm sure there is a market for her out there.

I don't know that it was an opinion. That site is a mess, content sections clash with the background, it's huge and does not center in the browser so figure 1/2 of all user start it by staring into random black area.

File size is INSANE.

yeah yeah..not to get involved in the design battle(I dont think its good though) but the sounds on it are abbrassive and awfull in my humble opinion.

My 2 cents. Design is a personal preference and I didn't care for it too much. It's a site that didn't give any thought to useability. The author obviously doesn't understand the web.

settle down everyone, it's just one site design. Not all sites and designs can be liked by everyone equally. The site was done and approved by the people it was meant for, so that's all you can say. Beyond that, it's a matter of personal opinion whether you care for it or not. No sense in bashing each other cuz you disagree. ;)
