Hi All, we are doing a redesign (finally) of our site. Needs to be more of a hybrid than straight flash site - although we will be creating a funky flash site using the same CMS driven content in the next month or two.

The idea is to keep the interface monochrome to allow the work to speak for itself - and on rollover of any section or text, this highlights as another colour (eg blue / red / different colours for each section, all controlled in CSS) - Would love to hear some comments although its nowhere near finished.

(Hi All thanks for your comments on the initial designs -- thought i would post a sample containing a few page designs

Click here (http://www.maxdefinition.net/clients/maxd/home.htm) to view the updated design ( you can click on the first 3 nav links to see pages)

Also for an idea of how this is going to work see here (http://www.maxdefinition.net/clients/maxd/sample_rollover.htm) (remember this a HTML site with a few flash elements)

Love to hear your comments :afro:

dunno man I am on the fence with this one. Actually leaning towards not liking it. It actually seems to monotone. Nothing has billing over the next right now. Maybe I gotta see it more close to production time. But right now it just seems rather ho-hum....ya dig. But since it is not close to being finished ill hold out final judgement because I know you will bring this one back to life.

I think it looks crisp and clean (like most of the designs we see from you Pixi) but at the same time I think it could have that little "umph" you need to let the site stand out amongst your competitors, unless that's not what your driving to do. You could let the work speak for you, but at the same time you have to catch the viewer's attention with something other than the work to keep them interested and staying at your site.

Both absolutely right :) -- This is a first pass (I normally do it in Grey, and then add colour, I find it ewasier to balance the page) -- I def agree there needs a bit of ZING* - working on it :) ps thanks for the kudos to both of ya.

Posting soon :)

Sawyer - When you roll over any text, it changes to blue / red etc... same with ALL the site elements ( using a CSS hover) - The idea is that the focus is on the area you on -- hope that makes sense - But we def need some colour in there

also seems a bit wide right now. and the blank space below your nav looks a bit odd.

Thats a lot better but I think it still looks a little plain.

Maybe if the navigation and welcome boxes had a little life about them it may spruce it up a bit more.

Big fan of your work(s) and love the current site :)

Thanks G - :) Yeah I havent even started on the colours and interavtive elements like titles, nav area etc -- but just wanted to do a test to see if the whole concept of rollover areas would work . This is the HTML version of the old flash site -- the current flash site is 3 years old, so got a load of new ideas and stuff for the flash revamp :) -- incidentally our cms will provide the sdame content to both this HTML site and the new flash site from mambo ( sweet!)

the unconventional layout makes it really hard to follow and even look at. people aren't used to content being on the right with nav in the middle. i would really consider switching the nav and content placement. even better would be to put the about us stuff on the right, nav on left, content middle.
