Hello people. I am currently in the middle of my first paying client's project. He is a photographer, and I am making a website for him to promote and sell his photos. This is just a WIP, but I think it gives an idea for the general layout and color scheme (Blue, haha, all blue).

Let's see, the Home and Gallery sections are fully functional at the moment. You need to have Flash Player 7.0 in order to view the Gallery and Home page content. I have received permission from Josh Rhame and 2210 Media to use his Flash XML gallery for the site. The Black & White Gallery is not yet online because of the fact that my client has not yet givin me any of his Black & White photos.

I am asking for some thoughtful critiques, whether they come harsh or pleasant.

Thx in advance. :)

Sorry to act needy, but could anyone give a critique which gives me an idea of what I've done that makes it look good, or haven't done that makes it look bad? J/w, this isn't a demand. :P

Thx.

The gallery itself is nice, and has a nice effect with the thumbnails but you need pictures in the sections if you are going to have sections...(aka the black and white) etc. It would be better if the pictures were larger...having a gallery for photography is a lot better when the images are large...

sorry about that, I was in a rush.

I have to have dinner, but I promise that I'll post a proper critique in the morning ;)

Hey, it's all good. Thx.

BoonDock, my client had specifically stated he wanted his pictures to be kept quote un-quote 'safe'. He had thought of ordering the DigiMark subscription to watch over his photos, but it's a hefty fee of $500/year. So I simply lowered the image quality, made sure they were linked via XML, and sized them down a little; all at his request. It's good to keep clients happy, right? :cowboy:

thx Forq.

Keep it up, it comes natural. IMHO, you can't learn design from a teacher. You can gain knowledge on how to use tools to benefit your designs but not design it'self. ;)
