Hi, before i tell you about the picture above i'll give you a quick introduction, i'm a 14yr kid who knows nothing about all this html code stuff. Above is a picture of a site i'm trying to build, as you can see its a media kind of site.

I'll just explain some of the features as i haven't yet hosted it. The picture with the grass in is a little flash animation that says stuff like welcome and hi and then shows news about the site. The big blank area on the left is because i don't know what to put there.

I'm hoping for any help and ideas, thanks!

I quite like the italic Welcome text. Everyting else looks very good and crisp too.

You say that the grassy area is going to have a welcome message and stuff too, don't make it cheesy. I think that bit might be nice with perhaps a little particle effect or something along those lines.

As for the side, how about a sub-section navigation. Eg, what types of games are in the games section, and categories for different flash files etc.

Nice logo, too.

like the picture. The logo... i mean, the star man... is overused by everybody... like if it was a logo cliche... but... looks nice anyway.

On the blank area to the left, you could use that as a sub navigation for each section of the site...as far as putting any flash into that picture area, i wouldn't, other than the simple I'll say it again, SIMPLE particle effect that has been mentioned, or possibly just something very subtle that wouldn't take the attention away from the site, nor the very nice picture...just don't over do it...otherwise this is a great design for a kid who is only 14...nice design! :thumb:

thanks for the complements. the games and music section are going to be more like reviews and news but there would also be flash games and sample music.
