Nice.

It looks proffesional.

I would need to see the logo along with site content to see if it goes.

On its own it looks great.

It took me ages to come up with a logo that I was happy with.

Hmmm..

Firstly the logo seems a little bland. What I mean by that is when i look at it all is see are two letters place under each other. A logo is supposed to have unity and coherence, and you lack both. Not to discourage you or anything, but your are off to a good start.

If you post some information of what you want the logo to be about and what approach are you taking it would be enormous help. The Logo partially depends on your the content of your site. For example buisnesses usually have logos that DONOT use gradients. Whereas personal website may use. but, overall a gradient or a bevel on a logo just makes it look kinda of cheesy.

If you are trying to create a Logo out of your name then read this article and you'll have a better understanding of how to make better logos.

If you are trying to a logo using some picture, read some tutorials, look at some logos some stock logos sites. You might think its copying, but while browsing you might get some idea for a new logo.
here are some tutorials. READ THEM ALL They are very helpful.

Thankx for your links, its really useful.

You'd be surprised at how many people want to know how to create a good logo. Infact I am one of them. Once you get a good enough idea that attracts the audience's attention then keep it. I have made various logos for a challenge, However if i dont feel satified then i scrapp all of them.

If you come up with a logo and are not satisfied, then dont delete it, because in future something might tick and you might want to use a similar concept. Also sometimes the scrap logos are usefuls because you can use certain ideas from some of them incorporate into one whole new logo.

Yeah thats just my :2c:

how'd you do that? That would be kick ***!

Ψ

yea i am from toronto.

Nice logo Apixdesign, i would only change the color of the "o".

Tromiano, are you making your site in flash or just HTML.
If you are picking either one, you might want to drop the lower bar on the picture attachment you provided. Also the repetivenes(if thats even a word) of you logo seems to distract the focus of your logo. What i mean by that is when i would go to your site i want to see the logo in one place, not overall the website. Having it in one place keeps it the center of attention when the viewer is looking at it.

As for the background, try to pick a pattern that seems to either blend in with the colors or make it clash, so that it keeps it "food for the eyes"

You might find some good patterns at www.squidfingers.com

basically u got ur o and ur t, cut both of them in half, and then just put the bottom layer in between the first and second layer. and if u want the outerglow and all the goodies, do that BEFORE you split up ur letters, or it will not work.

Background pattern is nice. Maybe reduce the opacity of it a bit.

As for the layout style, i still stand by the comment i made about logo not suitable for the four corners of the layout.

As for the layout, you might need a banner, that does not say "tromiano.com"
Type your name or what ever you want to be know as in a simple font and then simplyfiy the bottons too. Try to make the buttons "go with the flow" as in give then a similar theme.

Definitely an improvement over previous designs. The background is really nice for some things... I've actually used the same background for a project before, but on your site it made me feel like I was falling off my chair. Maybe with some content that won't happen any more but it makes your content box look slanted and now I can't stop tilting my head... crap!

Tromiano
January 2nd, 2006, 02:26 PM
Hey thanks again, try looking at it now, wont make you all slanted. :P hehe

Ψ

;P you didint mention it before

Tromiano
January 2nd, 2006, 02:42 PM
Well yeah, cause I couldn't think of how to make those before. Have any good links for buttons :beam:

Ψ
January 2nd, 2006, 03:04 PM
hmm. Make your own buttons ;P :P

hmm but free buttons? Most of them probably wont fit with the color you have got.

First make top thingy (i forgot whats it called) yea make that then it will get easier to make the buttons, because trying to fit the banner in with the buttons would be a hard job to do.

Hmm try to think of some interesting way of putting your links(links to your blog, portfolio etc..) in an interestnig manner. Browse through he "kool sites section" there are many sites, something might tick when you are browsing through them. For me, i look at them as inspirations.

But yeah make a banner first then the buttons. Try to put up some content, because it shows how the site is going to look in the future.

I'd really like to see another color scheme and the logo is ok, but would look better with a different font most likely...
