err, what did you modify except add an (disproportionate) glow ?

uhhh.... ooook. you gaussian blurred the back... and added a ripple or somethin? is it supposed to represent some type of heat pattern or somethin or other?

Sorry, is this a 'find the difference in two pictures' thing ?

there is not much there to like. If you were trying to immitate the distortion caused by heat vapors from the engine then I could see where you were trying to go. But other than that its just 2 filters applied randomly.

The heat is generated behind the engines, not in front of them and under the plane, so the blur is too big right now, and also too strong.

okay, why not some suggestions now? i agree ^. but i have to disagree with DDD.

oh yeah dont use the ripple effects for that. I would use the displace filter with a whispy gradient like the cloud filter. Could be a cool manipulation stick with it.

This would make it more realistic (and probably what you are looking to do):
A)copy the original picture to 2 layers (label the bottom layer "original")

B)marquee the plane tail and copy ctrl-c

C)paste the copied tail in place ctrl-v

D)do a motion blur on the tail making it appear that the plan is flying from the left to right.

E)Blur the entire second layer so that the ground and sky are not recognizable

F)While on the second layer, use your erase tool and erase the blurred text on the side of the blurred plane. This will reveal the bottom layer text in readable condition.

G)Do the same steps again for the planes wings. Apply the motion blur to the wings and maybe the bottom part of those black tires at the bottom.

Now you have what you are looking for. The point of this kind of technique is to showcase the name of the plane and not anything else. Do not allow the ground to be in view or the clouds or the buildings.(blur them out) because it seems like the plane is standing still and not in motion.

And Keep trying.
