Instead of sleeping at 1.30 am, I did a logo thing for our debate club for kicks. It's my first logo so please be gentle. Or maybe be brutal. Or...just critique anyway.

Thanks! And Merry Christmas to all. I mean Happy Holidays ;)

i think it looks good. You kept it monotone with a bit of an urban flavour. Definately works.

I received a bit of feedback that the serif font sucks. I'm not sure whether to take it or not because the feedbacker is rather...biased against fonts that resemble Times New Roman. What you guys think?

I'm not completely sold on the text at the right, but other than that I think it looks pretty dang good.

- Not bad. The logo, at the moment, could be used for a record or music store. But I think you could easily implement something that's relative to a "debate club".

- Ask yourself these questions: What comes to mind when you think of a debate club? What takes place at a debate?

I tried doing that, and all that came into mind were horrendous images of clipart gone wrong.

I will think harder.

Nerds  j/k

As for the logo... I guess it works. Doesn't really represent anything that has to do with debate, except the "d"... but then again NOT every logo has to. Part of a branding strategy is to build it up as a brand, and make it recognizable. I can't say that I haven't seen this done b4. So I think it's an average concept, and can really be applied to anything, just by changing the text on the side.I don't think the type on the side works all that well, and prolly shouldn't be on the side... as it's hard to read.
